I have had my 2006 LC for almost a year; and at 155K miles, I'm not happy with the ride. I'm thinking of replacing all 4 shocks with OEM, and was wondering if it would be advisable to replace the springs, as well.

I would start with the shocks, almost no duplicate labor (v springs and shocks) and Toyota OEM shocks are cheap, last, and handle nicely.
Searching around here you will find this consensus.

Try to give some more info about what you don't like, if it changed drastically, and what you're trying to accomplish.

What don't you like about the handling? Is this a stock truck staying stock or a truck you want to build up?

Is your front sway bar system intact? They do fail with some regularity and will change the feel significantly.

If there is 155 on the shocks, I would probably replace them. Mine were pretty beat after 130k. Some of the AHC guys might be interested in your old ones, as they prob have slightly more spring than new AHC coils.

A US 2006? That would be with AHC then?
If yes, the shocks are not shock absorbers as such, and do not wear the same way as conventional shocks do. They either leak or are OK. Better then to start with checking Neutral Pressure, and after that, count the notches. Search and read.

Lots of nonAHC '06 LCs out there.

Nope, does not have AHC - I'm pretty sure it was an option for the LC; standard for the Lexus.

Again, the question would be: do I replace the springs when replacing the shocks?

Sorry, did not see this reply.
The vehicle seems to wallow over bumps more than, say, my 2002 4Runner. When it's loaded with folks (6 adults) it gets worse. This is a stock truck, and will stay that way for the foreseeable future. I have not checked the front sway bar. Also, I was under the impression that the front, as well as the rear, has springs - apparently that is not the case.

Thanks for your reply - good suggestions. I'll start with new OEM shocks, and see how that changes the ride.

If you're staying stock height, I'd just get four new OEM/stock shocks - keep the springs/torsion bars.

What tires does the truck have? At what PSI? And, how many miles are on them?

The front has springs, only that they are not coiled up. They are called Torsion Bars (TB for shrt), and are adjustable. Adjust to keep the right height, and to balance out any L/R lean.

Sounds like you need new shocks. What's your wheel size? and pressure?

Nope, they address different issues. No need to replace them automatically.
