Removing side cladding? Just tape or holes drilled? (1 Viewer)

Did some searches and found details on the Land Cruiser 200 but nothing for GX that I saw. I'd like to remove the side cladding on the doors of the GX if there are only 3M tape strips holding the trim on or if it has holes drilled in the doors. Looking at Prados, I have to imagine they are only held on by tape.

Does anyone know? Anyone done this before?

I believe there are holes in the doors for the clips that hold the strips in place.

I'm thinking that it's tape.
Reason: I was t-boned earlier in the year, which my rock sliders saved my vehicles. But the right rear door had to be replaced along with the molding on the right front door.

You can kind of see the molding coming off the doors and it doesn't look like any holes, just adhesive.

Yeah the post with the red truck with the panels off clearly has holes. Seems like a bunch of unnecessary cost by Toyota but what do I know. I guess I'll wrap the chrome on the strips black at some point instead because I'm not filling holes just for aesthetics

There are holes. A lot of them. The 460 has fewer as the side trim is less extensive, but they have holes. A 470? Don't even get me started.

Here is an example of where the holes are on '10-'13 Premium, '12-'13 Base, '14-'19 Base/Premium/Luxury (All trims).

Models without: '10-'11 base and '20+
