whats it gonna hurt other then handling ? I got broken bolts on the brakets that hold the rear of the sway bar to the frame. if i remove it to drive for awhile till my buddy can fire his welder up. is it gonna hurt anything other then my handling? should just lean alittle more in turns right? well considering one side aint even conected to the frame im guessing it cant get much worse. just wondering if it will hurt anything on ifs truck thats all

I'm betting the universal response will be "Take it off and chuck it". I haven't had one since I did my SAS ~10 years ago, don't miss it. It's a 26 year old truck, not a Porsche. Just slow down on highway ramps when getting on and off 695, you'll be fine.

I haven't run mine on my 90 pickup for close to 7 years. Still IFS and driven daily, average around 15k-20k per year with no problems.

i think ima ttake the shyt off till i got time to remove the broken bolts hmmmm
if it didnt sound like the truck was falling apart i wouldnt even care. but the clunking is so dam loud i cant here other issues with the truck . still sorting the bugs been driveable for maybe 2 weeks now

The endlinks will snap (2 14mm wrenches), and the remaining bolts will probably snap off in the frame. Toss it in the trash. Worry about fixing other stuff.

one end link snaped other unbolted. and the last frame bolt came right out. now to take it for a ride and see what other noises this thing makes. Thanks for the help as always guys. appreciate it. it was driveing me nuts

you might even get more flex when off road, i have a solid front and my bolts snapped when i was removing it to to do the marlin high steer, or when doing my lift, the bushings at the frame where shot so i thought i would replace them. i trashed it and i do not even notice it is gone.

its off. i still got bang boom noises. now to figure out if its busted wore out blown shocks. wheel beerings or ujoints. O it handles just fine ;)
And yeah on solid axle rig removing swaybar gives more flex. this is my first ifs 4x4 so i wasnt shore out it hurting the torsion bars or what not

Might check the A-arm bushings. Play in those will cause lots of noise up front.

i bet there a real pain in the ass to replace arent they ?

check to see if your ball joints (upper and lower) are any good....going over a bump / pothole at low speeds will make a clunk noise if the ball joints are trash....fixed mine right up..

use oem replacements...almost the same cost as new "moog" garbage.

Check the bronze spindle bushings. Grab the outboard CV axle and shake up and down for play.
Mine clank around alot I have 86 4runner. Also loud whirring noise in 4hi at speeds above 20.

OH YEAH! When I did mine I actually got some extra ones from a guy who did an SAS. If you go OEM you can press the whole thing out and press in a new one. I went with Poly bushings and they have to reuse the OEM bushing sleeve so I burned the old bushing out, wire wheel and sand paper to get the little bits off the sleeve. It was a major PITA. Next time I'm just going to cut it all out and SAS.
