How do you remove the rear engine mounts that bolt onto the bellhousing. I removed all the nuts and cotter pins and the bolt turns but does not come out. I took a hammer to bolts from underneath and bolts will not budge. What am I doing wrong.

are you try to remove the mount from the bellhousing?
are you trying to remove the bolt with cotter pin that goes thru the rubber mounts?

how about a pic?

so if cotter pin and nut is removed from bolt, but can't get bolt to slide up or down?
try jacking on bottom of bellhousing, not the inspection cover, and lift it up slightly and see what moves. you should be able to jack it up 1-2"
other option is to remove the mounts from bellhousing and go from there.

The weight of the engine/tranny is probably compressing the big rubber donut around the bolt.
Like 3-puppies said, take some weight off the mount.
A floor jack under the oil pan skid plate would do it.

Could you also carefully apply some pressre to the bolt with a bottle jack?

Replacing motor mounts are on my wish list. I'll be curious how you go about your project.

I got them. One I had to place right on the bolt to pop it up and the other I had to put on bellhousing and jack up and hit from under the hood. Both popped out nicely. Thanks to all for your help.
