Well, the results are in. And unfortunately I cannot take credit for the paint work. After many tiresome hours of prepping, painting, wet sanding, reprepping, repainting, etc. I decided to take my parts to a professional with the right tools for the job. The aerosol cans were simply just not working for me. I think it was the touchipdirect clear coat that was poor quality giving me issues.

Thankfukly I was able to get refunded for all the paint I purchased through them; which was about $175.

Here is the final result:

Wow, looks really awesome It's exactly like I wish mine looked!

Thanks man! If you don’t mind spending the money I think it’s totally worth it. I enjoy looking at my LX so much more now. I do not advise trying to do the work yourself. Just pay a pro. I did all the disassembly and prep work so the painter didn’t have to mess with any of that. They were 100% ready to paint when I dropped them off, shy of cleaning the surfaces. Last step, door handles and fog lights!

I also need to get plugs for the front license plate and remove that bracket.

Ok I’m happy to say my deblinging and transformation phase of my soccer mom kid hauler to a proper truck is officially done, for now. The last piece of the puzzle was my stock 20” wheels, which I am happy to have figured out with some lucky lc200 help from @NHouston and some well implemented crafty emblem tips from @fjcruising …(Chinese chrome wheel caps, remove emblem, jbweld then plastidip). Now I just need to address the lug nuts.

I am quickly realizing that while I dig the look of the smoke plastidip on the rear trim, emblems, grill, and fogs… it doesn’t work very well on the handles when my kids use them… so might need to follow @Zarchery ’s lead and do those the right way.

overall I feel like the appearance has been fully transformed, I’m now driving a truck who’s capability isn’t hidden behind flashy bling.

Killer turnout man! Looking great! I had a feeling those door handles wouldn’t hold up great. I dropped of the chrome bezels where the fog light’s are housed yesterday for paint. Once those are done I’ll be 100% aside from the door handles. Slowly but surely.

Looks great. I've been meaning to do this to mine. What was the removal process like to remove the bezels? Any tips?
You unfortunately have to completely remove the fog light to access the clips on the bezels.
There are 3 clips that snap them into place. I found it easiest to use a small screwdriver to pull the middle part of the clip down. I don’t have any good pictures of the back side of the fog to show you. Once I got the top clip free I was able to just wiggle the bezel out.

Once removed you can put your dogs all back together and button everything back up. You can drive the vehicle and everything with no issues. The bezels will snap back into place just by pressing.

Removing Bezels: 1.5 hours (very realistic time slot, could definitely be quicker
Installing Bezels: 20 seconds

Follow @pound write up for removing fogs. It’s perfect. Also, upgrade fogs while you’re at it! Might as well!

So, did you dip those handles or have them painted? I’m pissed off looking at my chrome handles.

I dipped them and all my chrome using “smoke” which I love the look of overall. Takes off the bling without full murdering it out. I blacked out the chrom on the base of my windows though.

I’d suggest if u have kids this is not the best option for the handles. Def starts to come off with careless usage. It’s holding up great everywhere else (fogs, grill, emblems, snake blinders, rear tails, and rear hatch)

I’d recommend taping off everything specifically the back on the handles where the sensors are, and protect the car paint for less cleanup…. Use an old goofball to pull and keep the handle open before u paint so in gets in the middle parts.

I love the look but the durability on the handles is directly tied to how careful u are using them when opening the door. My drivers handles still looks great but the other ones the family uses are starting to peel.

Wanting to do this so badly with my wife’s 2015 LX. Does anyone have a good part number(s) for black LC200 door handles with the lock button?! On all 4.

2015 here. We're you able to find the part number? Any one know the part number for the belt moldings, or any other swappable parts?

Thanks

Here's a thread to get you going. Belt moldings for a 2015 LX should be interchangeable with all years LC and at least 2008-2015 LX. All LX ones are chrome and late (2016+) LC ones are chrome. All that to say, you are looking for LC moldings from 08-15 if you want black.

I never did, no. Still want to tho

Hey new user here. I want to do a chrome delete on my 2014 lx570. Can anyone confirm if the door body molding at the bottom of the doors have holes in them or is it just double sided tape for the 13-15 lx570?

Also I can't paint the "new style" Lexus emblem on the grill since the L is encapsulated. Do the old style 08-12 lx570 front emblem pop right into the grill?

13-15 has holes and unless you want to delete your radar, you can't replace the front emblem.
