Removal of Hillbilly dash and wiring PT1 1972 FJ40 pics (1 Viewer)

Once I cut out and fit the main ABS underneath panel... I then marked and cut out the gauge cluster holes. Because I have so little metal left on the dash I kept as much of the ABS material underneath the gauge cluster for support.

It's not finished by any means...but functional now at least...I used stainless self tapping #8 for the hardware.

I still need to prep and paint underneath the new dash, add accessory switches to the main center panel,add the lower section and deal with the glove door. There is no sense in getting to that until I get my new wiring harness comes in next week and start the dash rewire. I'll post more pics as I get closer to finished

good thing it didnt happen when driving :) that would have been bad

know of anybody with a donor dash?

you could go simple and put a panel in the center only
I have a donor dash available if you need it. Its from a 78 FJ40 tub. Lemme know. :cheers:
