Lemme see your get your butt out of trouble redneck fixes :)

If it gets good, a sticky it may be ;):hillbilly:

i used bungees to hold together my tie rod end when it broke off road.
and some 18 gauge wire to hold in my oxygen sensor when it got riped out.

Well, unfortunately I don't have pics of it, but I have two u-bolts from a-zone holding my drivers-rear top leaf spring together, which is totally redneck. Here's a pic of the broken spring before the u-bolt addition.

Here's my Rube Goldberg, but it's on my '40 not my '62.

I used a chunk of shelving standard to clamp down my battery.

Not a redneck fix, but here's my redneck cooling system burp setup. Quoted directly below

"I never found burping to be as easy as some explain it. I don't have much of an incline handy to park my rig on, and it seems I couldn't get the front passenger side high enough to make the filler neck the highest in the coolant system. My redneck solution involves a funnel and just enough duct tape to make a seal in the filler neck. Now with the extra elevation gained by the funnel, burping is easy!"

Small town hardware store 'chevy in a toyota A/C adapter' (better known as 3/4" to 3/4"x3" pipe adapter) finished off my A/C lines... She gets so cold with this specialized part I can't leave the A/C on unless it's over 100 outside...

leaf spring fix

Busted a leaf spring bad on an old CJ that I had, used the bar the hi-lift rides up (and a whole bunch of wire to hold it in place) to "splint" the spring pack and finished the trip.

Well I did the egg in the radiator trick once to get me home:)

:crybaby:But no pictures.

HUH??? What is the egg supposed to do ???

Mark???

Supposed to plug the leak, then when you get home, you eat the cooked egg. ;)

believe it or not

during a trip home we lost both rear wheel cylinders, where in the middle of no where.so we decided to cut the brake line going to the rear brakes and got a hammer and started smashing the line against the diff. housing.now we don't have enough brake fluid to fill the master, but we got some powder laundry soap since this is all happening while a down pour one of the guys suggested mix up the soap and remove all the bubbles and pour iit in the master cylinder.we were able to get home w/ the front brakes only.:bounce: john

hey mark, did you missed that mc gyver episode?he did find an old jeep but radiator has a leak, luckily there was a chicken coup next to it and he grap a 3 egg omelette.lol. it realy does work.

Pepper in the radiator worked for me. There were no eggs nearby.

I've used a bike brake cable for a throttle cable.

Fixed a separated weld behind one of the O2 sensors with a beer can, muffler tape and a couple hose clamps. Lasted about 2500 km before I had to upgrade to the SeaFoam can-muffler clamp model.

expansion chamber.. :grinpimp:

Old school: 2-3 Car batteries, jumper cables, coat hanger (welding rod). Works perfectly; may have inclusions, but will get your home. Done it 4-5 times.

That sounds awesome, lol. How do you set up the jumper cables?

Some how my drivers side front brake line sprung a leak. Luckily I had small pair of locking pliers in the tool box to pinch the line off with. Limped it home safe but definetly a scary ride.

That RULES!!!!!!
I could not have even IMAGINED that would work!

I heard a tale recently for re seating a bead involving starter fluid...
This is Calicrusier's story, so maybe he'll chime in to tell it.
Its one that Ill keep in my back pocket though.

Keep em rollin. This stuff is invalueable!
