Recommendations on Tuscon '40 shop for Tune-Up - Need to Pass Smog

I need to pass smog to register my vehicle '74 FJ-40.. It has a "F" engine. They only did a gas cap test, no inspection of the equipment under the hood.

I failed my first attempt with a High Hydrocarbons.

1st Idle 1095
Final 595
Standard 400 (Idle)

CO Passed

Anyway - any suggestions (other than registering it out of the city)?

I don't know an LC shop, but my buddies have a shop Ft.Lowell/Dodge.

you are real close on the HC on idle

what I did was: retard the timing (the distributor), and run a quart of alcohol in the tank, drive some 5-10 miles before the testing

truck runs like s*** in those setting, sputtering up hills, less than round on level pavement, but as long as it gets you through - hey who cares

afterwards, adjust timing again to where you like it
