I have a 72 with the original carb, it would run but after shutting down sometimes it wouldn't start and would act like it was flooded. I ordered a rebuild kit and tried to remove, clean up, and put back together as it came apart. I put it back on the cruiser and it will start but I need the (manual) chock almost all the way out or it dies. If I push the chock in the only way it will keep running is if I give it more gas with the pedal. So what did I do wrong???

Send it to Mark (Marksoffroad.net)

I had a daughter turn the key on and it sounded (and felt) like the solenoid did click. Someone recomended a place in California to rebuild the carb, I called there and got an message, does anyone know what he would charge to rebuild it?
Thanks all

Did you leave them a message with a phone number to call you back?

There is a gasket between the throttle body and the body of the carb that is easy to flip around. It will assemble just fine but will run as you describe.

I'm going to have another go at the carb tomorrow but if I can't get it working, and I deciede to go with a weber, what could I sale the stock carb for?
Thanks,

I cannot imagine someone giving you a whole lot of money for it, considering it is now a known, non-functioning carburetor that has been apart...

But hey, there are a lot of people on e-bay that throw piles of good money at junk daily....
