hi Sputnik40

If you get some down time would you mind snapping a few photos at multiple angles of the OEM soft door?
Picks of connectors, and the rubber channels etc would much appreciated.
That way i can start brain storming my plan of attack :)

Thanks!

Destin

I'll try and dig it out either tonight or Thursday evening - and will post up.

If you ever track down any replacements for the faux vent window let me know - the ones on the pair I have are very decent, but would like new if they ever turn up.

I actually have a pair of these... anyone local want to swap for some soft half doors? :)

I'm in S. Georgia

That 40 looks exactly like mine did when I bought it. sun bleached and pink.

That's what mine looked like too. Many years parked in the desert. Freeborn red doesn't age well.

I am super excited about the 40,

30k original miles, original everything.
shows up on friday or saturday :)

Mine too. Freeborn Pink.

Actually mine's not quite that pink. I compounded it and got it looking red for a while, but it bleached again (even faster) and now has some Freeborn White on it too, especially the hood. On the other hand, I haven't repainted it because I've grown to like the patina.

Destin, that looks like a nice, solid, low-mileage truck. Good find. Have fun!

Thanks Mr Toad.

I honestly love the patina, if i could seal it like that from the elements i would, know of a way?

other wise it looks like i need to repaint it ;)

No time to dig it out of the garage - here's a few pics from when I first got it, before stowing it away.

Yeah, paint is in your future unless it's really dry where you are, like it is here. ;)

As dry as it is though, rust never sleeps once it starts.

That looks like a clean rig to start with. Are you going to keep stock?

wow those doors are perfect.

Where that mostly the same form year to year?
When you have time down the road, when i start rebuilding the doors, i would love to pick your brain now and then :)

I'm not the one for details - you really need to get the TT issue with the article on rebuilding, he and others are the folks you need to be talking to...

Nice find.
