I am running the Falkens and they are quieter than the factory tire.

In order of quietness I have found:

Falken Wildpeak
Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor
BFG A/T KO2

Somehow i doubt that ANY tire is quieter than factory tire when new…certainly not any AT!

Your tire guy is feeding you some BS on the KO2's, I have had four sets since 2019 without an issue, many more amongst family and friends. Falken Wildpeak AT3w's are the most overhyped POS tires I can recall in recent years, I'd run Duracraps before those and I am no fan of those either.
I love my wildpeaks, wanna fisticuffs about it? 😄🤜🤛

I have BFG KO2 in 285/60/18 Load Range D.

My KOs have been very quiet over the life of it…42k miles and counting.

Rotated every 5k miles.

Here are pics of my KO2 front and rear just now.

My personal experience is excellent with the KO2's as well. Have had 2 sets and they are quiet and last nicely. Just going by what my tire guy says. Might still go with these and test the warranty if they don't hold up.

Good to know your experience with them has been positive. Appreciate you chiming in!

And yet it was so obvious I noticed it as soon as I left the tire co parking lot. But yes, it was new Falken vs old bridgstone.

I’m on my second set of KO2, 50k out of the first, at 35k with the second, rotated every 5k…zero issues. I wouldn’t say they are very quiet but I barely notice the noise. They do get louder as they get older but by that time it’s time for replacement anyway.

A couple more to consider are the general grabber ATX and the Nokian Outpsot At. I haven’t used the Nokian Outpost AT but the reviews are all positive for road noise. I was pleasantly surprised buy how quiet the ATXs were. Not much more noise then the Michelin Defenders.
Was thinking seriously about the Gen ATX. My tire guy didn't think I'd like it - for one only E rated and he said it was round instead of square on the edges. Very similar tread to ATKO2's so figured it would be quiet. Still a possibility.

Nokian - looks decent. Haven't studied it at all. Don't know anything about the company at all. I'll study up on them.

Appreciate the input!

I was just thinking the same. Never owned an A/t that was quieter and smoother than a highway tire

How many miles do you have on them now and you’re still saying they are quieter at higher speeds above 65mph? How’s the comfort of them? What size?

@Tiger Rag are yours the P-metric P285/70R17 or LT285/70R17? They look like the P variant to me but I can't tell for sure..

Note that if so, yours are already far more quiet than most AT tires. They are basically in a different category than most AT's, which are built in LT-metric flavor and frankly have different standards for noise and ride quality.

I would seriously consider the Michelin LTX A/T2
You are correct, they are the P-metric version. Tire guy said hasn't had many complaints about noise in the Toyo AT3's but when he did it was a SUV. He explained that the rear axle being under the cabin of the vehicle transmitted more noise into the vehicle. I had never thought about that and with me driving trucksprimarily over the years, I haven't had to worry about that with the rear axle being under the bed.

I've run that Michelin on my current truck before - good tire overall. I've always considered myself a bit of a Michelin man, just want something with a more aggressive sidewall/look.

I've heard the Nitto Ridge Grapplers are very quiet for an A/T tire. I have them, and the noise isn't bad (and actually got quieter after a few thousand miles) but they are not silent. I haven't run any other A/T tires on the LC though so I can't compare
Considered the Ridge Grapplers, Recon Grapplers, and Toyo OC RT's. All look good but don't think they'll be any quieter than the Toyo OC AT3's I've got now. My tire guy agrees. Probably do one of these next time I need tires on my 3500.

Appreciate the suggestions!

Specific tire sizing, inflation pressure, and individual expectations play a role here. Curious what inflation pressure you're running? There's been annecdotes of higher inflation pressure reducing the more aggressive tire should lugs contact with the road and decreasing noise. I don't think that will do enough to change your goals though.

I have ran both Falken and Toyos. If the AT3s don't meet your expectations, the Falkens are not likely to either. Both are well behaved but neither are silent. At least for the tire sizes I ran, I found the Falkens to have coarser and louder noise at higher freeway speeds. Whereas the Toyo was louder at medium speeds, getting to smoother and lower tone at higher speeds. Again, I think that's specific to the tire sizes and maybe even pressure I run.

For your goals, like others, I would highly recommend Michelin LTXs.
I started at 40 psi. (Max is 44). Dropped to 38. The RCTIP from one if the members here is 26. I'm at 30 currently but was afraid to go that low. So yes, I'm trying different pressures to try and find a sweet spot. I'll say this, the tires ride great and handle well also. It's strictly a noise thing for me. I've got my wife in the LX today to see what she thinks of the noise to make sure it not just my perception.

Nokian Outpost AT.....

All tires are louder on a 200 than my 100 for sure.

Outpost have very little noise. I removed Ridge Grapplers after 10k miles....
I'll have to look into the Nokians since you and others have mentioned them.

Sounds like you're doing everything you can. They're better today, but It is the nature of ATs to make some noise. The LX does a great job to attenuate the noise, but it'll still be there. It's up to the individual to decide if it's acceptable.

Unfortunately, they tend to get louder with miles and age.

There is really no way to compare now vs months ago especially at any given speed. My impression is they are a quiet tire. I have about 4K on them and happy so far. Run fine at high speeds (This is Texas, we have a lot of 75mph+ and even 85mph roads). These are factory size 275/55/20 on my Sequoia. So far no complaints. Not much experience with inclement weather, it barely rained all summer. No issues with heat, we had some 110+ days.

Wildpeaks on my 100 are slightly quieter than the Toyo AT3s on the 200.
Tread pattern is really similar. Hard for me to think there will be any major difference between the 2 in noise. Both tires seem to be positively thought of in reviews.

Have you looked at the Nitto Recons? They offer P-Metric XL tires that are supposed to be pretty quiet.I have heard the Conti A/T is very quiet as well. I have just over 20k miles on my Ridge Grapplers and they are freaking noisy over 50mph. They were rotated every 5k. The Recons won’t be silent and hopefully I will be testing them out on an upcoming 800mi. road trip if they arrive on time and will report back. If they don’t perform as expected, I’ll either go Revo3 or Conti TC A/T which are both E-load which they have not received great reviews for a quieter A/T as they are more on the mild side. The Nokian Outpost was my first pic but they are impossible to get right now because of Russia.
Good info, thank you!

Revo3?
