FJ60s inside rear view mirrors are beginning to show their age. Mine has been become brittle and has been slowly disintegrating. I was sitting in our 80 series the other day and noticed a strong similarity in shape, mount orientation, and angle between the 60 and 80 series. An 80 series popped up in the for sale section for $5 and I decided to roll the dice on it and test fit it in my 60.

Direct swap and here are the pics.

Nice. Is the 80 series mirror larger in any dimension? I wish my 62 mirror was taller and wider.

Whoa! Good to know! Thanks @Godwin

Nice find, but just bought a new OEM mirror for the same reason

Would love to find a sun visor that swaped over to the 60, would love a new pair.

I have the same problem and bought a new one from @beno a few weeks back. That 30 year old plastic is literally disintegrating.

I plan on recovering my sun visors. Unless you are wanting a lighted mirror, or slide out extension, there probably isn't much to gain by swapping out the originals.

I'll be posting pictures of my newly renovated visors soon. I may be getting them for Christmas tomorrow [emoji318]

Does anyone have pictures of a dismantled visor to see how it attaches to the pivot bar? Was thinking of trying to rehab mine this summer or build new ones out of some ABS plastic, closed cell foam and vinyl to match the interior. If we ever had any in the Pick N Pull yards around here I would steal one for a template.

Not looking to gain anything, I'd just like a new pair of OEM visions or a nice matching swap. Mine are actaully in very good shape, but the fabric is sagging a bit. Think if I did an upgrade it would be those airplane visors that cut the sun, but they are not cheap

Great solution to my aging 60 mirror. Plastic when touched is like a small dust cloud.

Made a title change for the visor guys :D.

This issues I've had with visors over the years is a stiffness in flipping them up and down. The very early visors were plastic and having the seam split. One other issue has been having the oval plastic mount split at a screw hole.

well they are in the same area ;)

I was hoping the old vinyl style held up better, I know they are not correct for latter models, but I like the fact the clean up easy(like my 40 series)

I think the A piller end is pretty typical of many other Toyota's, I think just need to find one that is the right length to clip to the mount. Or maybe just slide over the old bar(think some pull out once the screw is removed)
