Rear sag on new 4" lift

Update.
No further resolution from MAF.
I removed all the items that MAF said were the heavy items and it still sags.
If you have a hard top rig, the Mojave kit may not be for you. It's very very soft. Great for crawling over rocks and trees but very squirrely on the street.

I have replaced my lift with a CCOT 4" and it's holding the top, heavy bumper, jack etc very well.
It rides a bit rougher but will corner now without causeing my butthole to rip a hole in the seat.

Your topic says Safari, but you actually run Mojave. I understand that you had a confusion at the beginning. Just to clarify.

I checked Man-A-Fre website. Mojave are Long-Travel springs designed soft and with big arc. They also shows "No-Top" vehicle on the website as well as noting in the description about the pictures. I didn't find any lift numbers in the description. Taking in consideration all above mentioned I'd assume that this kit is designed for not topped vehicles with minimal lift to provide long travel capabilities.
Your description of the issue just proves this. Sorry to hear.
I'm looking myself into 4" lift spring and was debating between MAF Safari and HFS. Looks like HFS is taking a lead. You're saying HFS holding your full equipt Cruiser well. Good to know. thanks for the update.

I have been running the 3" Safari (OME) springs on my 78 for over 5 years and have had no problem with them at all. The ride and handling is great. I run mine with and without the top, loaded down with kids and gear and have seen no problem at all. I would recommend them to anyone.

As for the HFS lift, I was at the CCOT shop in Dallas last year and two of their 40s (the red and green ones you see in all of the photos and calenders) were there and I got to look at them extensively. Crawled in and under looking at all they had done to them. The HFS lift looks awesome, very heavy duty, but I can't say how they perform.

I think either would be a good choice.

Is Safari = OME?
I thought that Safari is an internal Man-A-Fre brand, where MAF is just sourcing out springs from some suppliers.
I've seen OME leafs on FJ60 and they are thick and heavy. Those Safari looks much thinner and lighter.
Am I missing something?

regardless of the bumper, hardtop and roof rack, those spring should not have failed. the springs should be designed to handle everything a stock spring would only with more lift. fj40s have rear jump seats and usually hardtops factory...rear jump seats means a couple people. the bumper and roof rack are taking the place of people and the springs are not sufficient.

it also sucks that maf isn't helping you out. sorry to hear. i had an extremely similar issue with jto and leaf springs. i know your pain. you might see if you have a local spring shop that can work with what you've got for now, or build you a set.

soa is nice, but having done it, i wouldn't do it again. its more than i needed in my 40. i've had 4 inch springs on other rigs that lasted a long time with all i did to them. my last set was skyjackers and i loved them. hardtop, big rear tire, tool box and all...no sag. last i heard, 13 years later, a guy had bought them from the guy that i sold my rig to and was running them in moab,

Im confused...are your (the OP) springs Safari's or the new Mojave's?
Interested as my buddy has a complete Mojave setup waiting to be installed...not worth the trouble if his rig is going to sit like that!

I think he mentioned Mojave and they look like Mojave based on the image of the shackle.

I was told Safari was made by OME by someone on here a while back. A thread exists on here with that discussion. I have OME lifts on my other rigs and they are heavier.

I searched the web, but nothing comes to Safari. The only reference is Man-A-Fre.
