I was looking at a used 2008 Land Cruiser yesterday. Rust free, but I noticed what looked like wet oil in the section between the transmission and engine, directly above the oil pan.

Does this look like a rear main seal leak or other?

I didn't see any evidence of oil leaking from the front timing cover or simple overfill during oil change.

I'd bet on rear main. You'll see a drip forming near the little rectangular window at the bottom of the bellhousing where it attaches to the engine block. Could also be valve cover rolling down the side, but that looks like rear main.
Mine has been damp there for 50k miles and still doesn't leak enough to be down a whole quart per oil change. If the truck is a good deal, I wouldn't consider that a deal breaker, but that's your call.
