Rear lower control arm skids - who makes them?

He has to do more welding, so there is more labor in them than the prior version he sold. The ones I saw bolted through the mount, replacing the factory bolt, and had two fasteners at the leading edge, similar to his original design. I don't see why you couldn't weld them, but I don't believe it is necessary. I suspect they're mild steel, and if so, I don't see why you couldn't weld the leading edge on if that's your preference.
Right on, thanks for clarifying @CharlieS.

@TRAIL TAILOR thank you for offering these skids, they look fantastic.
Previously you mentioned these have longer bolts and welding compared to the first gen. What is the install process for these, is welding required or are they bolt on ?

Ordered with rear shock guards too. Thanks!

I guess this is a thing,... I ordered some too...

Dang, may just have to order. A little worried those leading self tapping bolts could get wrecked pretty easily. Couple plug welds right there is an intriguing and simple enough approach I may try.

EDIT: looks like I missed this run, damn. Hope you all enjoy them!

All gone.. time to go to work now...

All orders shipped!

I had an over-run of 5 sets. They will hit the website once I know everyone received theirs.

Received mine. Thanks!

Any tips/pointers on installing the TT RLCA skids? I'm assuming do one side at a time, get the RLCA bolt in to figure out where to drill. What size drill bit to use? TIA!

One side at a time. Pretty straight forward install. I was able to slide/bang in the new TT bolts and didnt have any alignment issues installing the hardware. jacking up one side of the axle will help with alignment when installing the bolts. I didnt need to, i guess my axle and thrust angle are good .
Install the skid and loosely tighten the bolt. Then push the skid up. I used a spring powered center punch to get a good guide before I started drilling. The TT bit Is super sharp and high quality. Drilled right through with ease.
Word of caution don't use an impact to install the self tapping bolts. My 18 v handheld stripped out the hole going way to aggressive tightening down the bolts to the lower control arm/frame. Had to rethread and use a larger bolt on one side.....story of my life lol. Learned my lesson on the first one. Second install took 10min max.
I had to use an 8 pound sledge hammer to bend back my mangled lower control arm bracket thingy in order to get the skids to fit. They have taken a few good hits wheeling.
I Used some grease on the inside of the skids to get them to slide on a bit easier. Probably not needed if you haven't mangled up the lower control arm like I had.

Thanks for the tips! I was planning to use an impact to get the bolts in guess I won't be doing that.

There was a drill bit included in the parts for the skids? Hmm I didn't get a drill bit will reach out to TT.

Your very welcome, happy to help. Using the impact is fine just stop before torquing down completely. Using one to snug up the bolts is a major time saver, then use a rachet to finish it up. Yeah should have bit with the kit.
