I have a parts truck that has a locking rear diff. My other truck does not have a locking rear diff. How difficult is it to change the rear diff to the locking diff other than changing the pumpkin/center section. Is the truck prewired for this like the AHC or will I have to take all that out my parts truck as well? Both trucks are '99.

Yes, standalone e-locker harness can be made or purchased. Search "Toyota E-locker wiring harness."

You have to change the housing too. All the wiring should be there, you will need to use wiring from the body to the locker actuator from the donor.
Lockers are ECU specific on the 100s? What a hassle.

Can a standalone wiring harness be made or is this a CAN bus deal on 100s?

I bought the standalone harness from Low Range Offroad. Works great, hit the switch and the rear is locked. It doesn't matter if the transfer case is in high or low.

I bought the Low Range Offroad standalone harness and swapped in the entire junkyard LC axle, which had new brakes and 110K fewer miles.
