hey fellas ive got a question for you guys. This week end i went to baja for the baja 250 we drove our rigs out there on friday morning its about 230 miles well on friday after we got there we went messin around on the dunes. While going up one of them in 2wd my rear locker activated very violently at about 5000 rpm. Im wondering if maybe i broke some teeth on my differential because now it will lock and unlock on the road going straight at about 50mph if you guys have any input please help thanks in advance

I doubt that anyone can tell you much other than the obvious. Sounds like it broke.

I think you need to pull it.

FWIW, if it was functioning correctly to begin with, why wasn't it more or less locked all the time on something as low traction as sand? Or to put it another way, it sounds like it wasn't working correctly before it broke.

I have heard of a detroit locker breaking from jumping before.....At least thats what tractec said was done to it when it was sent back for warranty. They didn't cover it.
