Rear Disc Conversion OH, but don't cut the backing plate, take the time to pull the axels and remove it whole. They can make good trade bait.
Also, click the "tech links" link at the top of the forum page and scroll down to disk brakes. there are several threads on how to do it and what parts are needed.
I removed my residual valve (located under my brake master cylinder). My truck is a 1981 FJ40, so it is probably the same as your FJ60. I also upgraded to a minitruck/FJ80 (without ABS) master cylinder, it has a larger bore=more volume.
Yu plumb in the proportioning valve to the rear brakes only.
