Rear disk requirements

This is my third post looking for info on rear disk plumbing requirements. I already have an adjustable proportioning valve, but I'm hearing things about removing the existing (I think) residual valve (where is it?) and the possibility of requiring a different residual valve of about two pounds. Anybody gone down this road?

It's probably the bypass and proportioning valve. It's located under the master cylinder.

I swapped to 4runner calipers in the front and the chevy non-parking brake calipers in the rear a year ago. I just recently swapped to a 80 series non-abs master. I'm not running an adjustable proportioning valve. So fare so good.

Rear Disc Conversion OH, but don't cut the backing plate, take the time to pull the axels and remove it whole. They can make good trade bait.

I removed my residual valve (located under my brake master cylinder). My truck is a 1981 FJ40, so it is probably the same as your FJ60. I also upgraded to a minitruck/FJ80 (without ABS) master cylinder, it has a larger bore=more volume.

Yu plumb in the proportioning valve to the rear brakes only.

Thanks. I did peruse the Tech links stuff, there is a piece in there about removing the residual valve, but it was a 40 and the masters look nothing alike. My entire axle went away. It's now a semi floater 14-bolt. The drivetrain is 350 to NV4500 to NP241.
