Rear Disk Brake - Anti Rattle Clip?

Just got rotors and brackets from Poser (thanks Poser!), and I have two questions.

1). after temporarily bolting the rotor to the axle shaft with two lug nuts, I placed the loaded caliper (ie: with pads) over the rotor and bolted it to the Poser-Bracket... (edit). Once I tightened the lug nuts, it fit perfect.

2). the brake pads came with a funky little anti-rattle clip. I can't for the life of me finger out where it goes.

You should not have to 'force' anything, and nothing should have to 'wear in'....

Is the end of your axle flange where the rotor attaches clean?

Is the end of the axle-housing flange where the spacers sit clean and free of dirt/rust/crap?


Please post up some pictures of these areas and of these clips.

Hmm... well... it wasn't a _lot_ of force, but the inside brake pad is loosy-goosy (well obviously, since I haven't put the brake lines on, and put any pressure on), and the outside brake pad is tightish. I can still spin the rotor, but it takes some effort.

the brake pads are Napa-brand ceramic. Maybe they are a wee bit taller then an OEM?

i degreased, then wire-wheeled, then rattle-canned the end of the axle flange and the brake-bracket attachment flange.

ok, i went back and played with it some more. The second side went on perfect, so I rechecked the first side... and after i tightened the lug nuts that held the rotor on (not tight, but enough to make sure the rotor was seated all the way), everything loosened up the way it should be.

let me repeat that: everything fits perfect.

So... what about the anti-rattle clip(s)? Toss'm?

Pad could be a little thicker I guess.




Is the caliper seated fully against the bracket?

Are the lugs tight on the rotor or just threaded on by hand?
