Guys -

I have that feeling that I'm about to ask a dumb question, giving many of you an immediate headache. I tried to search the answer to this and I don't think I'm using the correct terminology, because I found nothing so here goes...

The rear built-into-the-rear-trim bin things. What goes in there?!

Looks like the smaller one is for the Toyota First Aid Kid, accurate? Part #?

Looks like the larger one is for a tool I don't own. Yet. I shoved jumpers in there, just doesn't feel right. Part #?

If these are extra interpretive space, suggestions on what to put in there?

As always, thanks!

I believe oversea it was meant for the reflective triangle to go in there. I think it is mandated in Europe to have a safety vest and reflective triangle in all vehicle.

someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I put all my first aid stuff in there.

I copied someone here on this forum. I bought 2 specific (but the same) Pelican Micro cases to put in the larger bin and have spare parts (coil pack, fuses, lug nuts, lug studs, etc) in them. I have a few micro fiber clothes stuffed in between the Pelican cases so they won't mode and make noise as I drive. I have a normal Toyota/Lexus first aid kit and @pfran42 CV clamps in the smaller bin.

I put jumper cables in the top and and air compressor (for pumping up tires) in the bottom. I had a first aid kit in the bottom of the armrest, but now it’s in an off-roading stuff backpack. I need to put it back...

I can tell u that on the lx, the bottom smaller bin is where dvd unit is located. No idea what the top longer bin is for though.

There are bins there??? Guess I don't spend enough time in the back...

Interesting. In mine, it's in the center console and I have both of the bins in the back.

First aid kit in the small one, I keep random useful-on-the-road stuff in the bigger one.

I keep the first aid kit in the smaller one, and the OEM tire/tool bag up top
Tool bag originally came fitted with the jack behind it's access door in the rear, the little rubber strap holds it in place. Yes, the longer cubby was intended for the reflector that US rigs didn't get.

Odd, my '04 came with the silly orange triangle thingy in the longer bin. Not sure if it's factory Toyota originally or the previous owner put it in there.

the center console one is the cd/dvd changer for the front display.

correct, overhead rear dvd screen

Ok, that makes sense.

I'd still be surprised if that's what it was originally for. Would Toyota have planned for DVD integration when designing in the late 90s? Serious question, not trying to be sarcastic.

Good location for an Element fire extinguiser.

Yeah my tool bag came in the jack cubby, but that little rubber strap broke and they were banging around. Haven't been able to find a part number for just that strap

My friend in Wisconsin has a 2003 LC like mine but has a rear DVD system in the smaller, lower bin. It was kind of pain to use because its in the 3rd row and the kids couldn't change the disc when strapped in. If I remember when I bought mine it was an option added for vehicles coming to southeast ports. LC's in the west did not have that available and mine is a native California vehicle.
