Hello everyone, I am redoing my rear bench seat and I want to replace the foam for the rear bench seat back. Does anyone sell one or is this something that has to be custom made? I see lots of foam for the fronts but nothing for the back. Thanks!

Upholstery shops sell very high density foam you could cut and use. It's expensive, and replicating the Toyota foam shape will take work, but it could be done.

I have a spare set of rear seat foam, back and bottom, both in good condition. I would part with it, but shipping is likely high. Not really heavy, just big and bulky.

Let me know via PM if interested.

Thanks for the replies. @Skniper I was hoping that a rear cushion was already produced (and trying to avoid an upholstery shop) as the foam for the rear seat back is highly contoured. Definitely not made of simple shapes like front seats or the rear seat bottom cushion, which I am sure they mainly deal with. This makes me believe it would likely be very expensive to have one custom made. I'll check around but wanted to ask the cruiser brain trust first! :)

Doug, I'll send you a PM. Thanks for the offer!

On one of my FJ62, I took it to a small upholstery shop.. what he did was put a small layer of new high-density foam, on top of the worn out foam. It worked out great - was firm, and price was less then a full upholstery job. If you find a good small shop - they actually might be cheaper then you think . -Mark

Yeah, I'll check out some places and see what they say. Definitely going to have to get a whole new piece though. The foam itself is in good shape, it's just nasty (rusty dust, old mold smell, dirt, funk). The fabric cleaned up fantastic though! Covering up the foam won't stop the dust from being ejected when you sit against it and I doubt I could clean it well enough. Anyways, I'll report back what I end up doing!
