I have a 1988 FJ62 and need to replace the Oxygen sensor. I've never done it before and have looked it up in the manual and it seems simple. My silly question is, is there just one?
And are the instructions for doing it really this simple, is their anything I need to be careful of? And yes, I'm the guy it took 10 hours over six months to change the broken radio antenna
02 Sensors are a highly sensitive chemical thermometer, I really wouldn't trust non-Toyota sensors unless there is alot of successful user history here on Mud with non-Toyota units. Do Not touch the exposed end of the 02 sensor with your fingers, evidently the oil in your skin can be a trauma to the sensor.
They're both identical. I'll second the advice of sticking to the Toyota sensors (made by NipponDenso). Call American Toyota and talk to Dan (CruiserDan on here) for them. He can get a far better price than going to a local dealer.
While we're on the subject of O2 Sensors.... the bung for my O2 sensor rusted out. To seal the exhaust leak I had to cut the bung out and replace it with a piece of straight pipe. What is a decent replacement for the bung and sensor?

Ok, I looked at autoparts warehouse and they have three different Denso sensors. One specifically says for the front. Any advice on if there are real differences?
Dang it! I just built a new exhaust and switched to standard 18mmx1.5 thread in sensors because I didn't want to graft the old junk into the new pipes. Oh well.
By the way I've had no problems with aftermarket sensors, including my current aftermarket screw in and aftermarket with stock flange. Some have claimed that OEM is slightly more sensitive but I also run a wideband O2 (which is vastily more accurate than a standard O2 sensor) and I've never seen a problem.
