Really need to replace the fuel injectors? (1 Viewer)

I am in the process of replacing the HG on my 97 with 128k and tested the fuel injectors per the FSM method while all was apart. The acceptable range is 13.4 ohms to 14.2 ohms at 68 degrees temp. They were measured at approx. 60-65 degrees. They read #1=14.5, #2=14.6, #3=14.7, #4=14.6, #5=14.6, #6=14.4. It ran fine before the HG blew but did idle a little rough. I was going to have them profesionally cleaned but since they read bad I now don't know. Will the cleaning affect the resistance reading? Is the FSM being overly causious? What should I do?

I am not sure I would call that bad,

The readings are consistent injector to injector and within a few percent of the proper range, slight variations like that cold be from your meter or even your meters leads, what do you get with the probes together? Call that a tare and deduct it from your readings and now what do you get?

If the coils of the injectors were shorted or open you would get a much different reading.

I was thinking the fact that they are all similar to each other would be a good thing. I put the leads together to check as you suggested and got 0.0 ohms. I rechecked a couple times to be sure and got the same. I have had the meter for over 10 years but it has always worked good and has not suffered any major trauma and I just replaced the battery so I will guess it is not off by too much. I will send them off with confidence now. Thanks for the help.

Call DR Injector in your area. I have one in Gladstone, Oregon and he charges me $18.00 each to Rebuild/Clean. You get a flow reading before and after and I have never had one go bad.

Hes a goofy guy but knows his poop about injectors. I use him every week and hardly ever replace an injector.
