*really* dumb question - antennae

Power antennae on 89 FJ62 is broken, so I was just going to replace with a regular one. How do you get the power one out??? I assumed it was just a threaded nut, but damn if I can turn it Has anyone taken one of those off, on this model?

just use some chanell locks on the nut. then pull out the old antenna when running the dash switch up.....it should come out.

can get a new mast for $30 from Toyota, it will install when you stuff in back in the hole and power the antenna down

I might be off on the process a bit.......been a few years sense I have done one.

dealer quoted me 250 for the whole thing. the parts guy said they didnt sell just the mast. i replaced it with a rubber one from pep boys for 9 bucks.

i inserted needle nose pliers in the tho hole at the base of the antena to remove it.

would love to get my hands on a mast for 3o bucks

There are complete instructions in the 3F-E list files section. I bought a mast from a 4 runner that I haven't tried yet. I'll look for the part number.

I removed my broken power antenna from underneath -
just unbolt the windshield washer reservoir and you can
get to it.
