Hi All,

In the middle of my clutch install and wanted to replace the transmission input shaft seal and gasket. Got the old seal out and am
questioning if it was installed correctly reviosuly. the FSM does not show a good pic and neither does haynes. Also any suggestions on how to install with home tool :) Thinking about a 1.25" socket right now.

First pic shows how it was installed when I removed the old one.
is this the correct orientation or should it be flipped like the 2nd pic shows?

Thanks in advance.

The first picture is the correct way, the side with the lip should go towards the oil.

Thanks for the response BEE-JAY42....any suggestions on driving it in? so far all I can come up with is a 1.25" socket?

Alright, well since no other responses. I went with the socket driver :) worked well and did not mess the seal up from what I can tell.

Had to drive the socket out the other way though as it was tight in the seal after I drove it in.

Hope it does not leak.

Brad

Hey quick question - how did you remove the seal. I am struggling to remove mine. Thanks - Fred.
