Alright...in the middle of doing knuckle rebuild and everything is going smoothly; however, I can't figure out for the life of me how to seperate the hub from the rotors. I got new rotors for the job, but can't seem to figure out how the hell they seperate. Been betting the hell out of the hub...where it mates with the rotors, with a brass mallet, but still won't budge.

Any suggestions?? What am I missing??

BTW I removed the two bolts on the back side of the rotor.

TIA-

You also need to drive all 6 wheel studs out of the rotor/hub combo... After you do that use a prybar or screwdrive between the rotor and hub to separate. Do not beat on the back of the hub where the seals go. It will not stand up to the beating.

HTH,
Nick

Never done it. Are you past these three steps?

Use a brass drift to drive the studs out of the hub rotor assembly.

Brass drift will work for removal but it is easier to reinstall with the aid of a hydraulic press. Maybe you can reinstall with a drift as far as you can and take the assembly to a shop with a press for the final seating of the studs. I did that once and didn't get charged for the help.

I just put a nut on the end of them and tapped them out with a 5lb sledge, swapped rotors and tapped them back in with the sledge. easy cheesy

Thanks guys...got it!!
