Just went to start my car and it just won't turn over. I've got gas, the battery meter is right in the middle, all electronics work. It tries to turn over but can't. It was absolutely fine yesterday.

What is the first thing I should be looking at??? I really don't want to have to tow it.

Have someone listen for the starter solenoid click with the hood open

Check leads to starter...Check battery posts (I know electronics work but might be too corroded to send full juice to starter) check for good ground.

Bonk the starter with a hammer..

Is it clicking (the starter) and just not turning the fly wheel? or nothing?

Sorry, let me clarify....

It's turning over, flywheel is moving, however it just won't fire up.

Battery connections are clean. Should I look at spark plugs/cap as a source?

Ok... if turns but no start, check the igniter. That was what left me stranded once.
On another note, it did not turn at all a few years back and was able to rebuild the starter with OEM parts and voila....

Back to the spark issue, check your spark plug wires and your cap n rotor....

Here's an update for anyone who comes across this thread.

The issue was the fuel pump. It died. :crybaby:

$$$ ouch $$$

Tell me about it.

I bought a Die Hard Platinum battery first, thinking maybe I just wasn't getting the right voltage out of the 7 year old one that I had.....it was a long shot that wasn't the answer, obviously.

If it weren't my daily driver I would have attempted to do this myself. Had to have it towed to a shop. At least I get $50 off service for being a AAA member and I think 10% off for being a new customer, not much but everything helps.

Fuel pumps are expensive. Try cruiser parts.com. great service and 1year warranty on all used parts. I've been rebuilding mine and i find good deals there. Not to mention all the parts I need.
