Thanks

That post fills in a lot of info for me, Now it is all starting to sink in.

I was a bit worried when I saw no posts anywhere on google, mud, or you tube showing a 1HD-T in a 40

my only worry is while it can be done is finding the H55 input shaft that was designed to fit the 1hz

I think this might be an OZ only part and have emailed a couple vendors there

I dont want to get stuck with a nice diesel I cant install for lack of the shaft!

thanks again

now if anyone has an OEM part number for the right shaft that would make my day:)

Toyodiy lists it as 33311‑60170

I haven't ordered one up yet myself, so I can't vouch for that one. But Toyotapartsales.com shows it as a good part number for an input shaft, with a price of $309.88.

It's on my list of things to do, to see if C-onur and CDan can get one, or at least make sure it's the right one. After that I was going to try Japan 4x4.

I don't know if I'd call it an "autralia only" part, as those trucks are sold in decent numbers to mines in north america.

mine trucks

Thanks Dan

i also planned on checking with CDAN

I wasnt aware of the mining use--learnin all the time

The 1HZ is also found in forkilfts in north america. Heck, if there's a big enough mine, the local Carquest carries parts for it. I live in a mining county, and our Carquest doesn't carry parts for it, because the biggest mines here are open pit and don't use 70 series cruisers. But there was a lode mine that was planning on opening up a few years ago who was planning on a fleet of 70 series trucks, and at that time they had plans to add those parts to their line.

I figure I'll have to nag and harp on them a lot, but I might just be able to talk those guys into getting the 1HZ parts in stock. (even though I'm a Toyota snob--it'd be nice to have the local shop carry bits).

33311-60170 is a good part number and there is 1 in the US at the so-called "Japan warehouse" in Ontario, CA.

We can get it anytime.

Darn you!!!!!

You have an e-mail and the new address. ;) Now I just have to hope that I can fit it into the cruiser budget this month... I have been a good little boy with the budget lately, but now that my bellhousing is in NM, and the 40 is going out for paint....

So I'm not positive about that input shaft number now. C-onur (beno, for those who don't know, and it's pronounced "Coh-ner") said that 33311-60170 tracks back to a BJ-70 input shaft from the Canadian catalog.

I am 99% sure that the B and 1HZ input shafts aren't the same.

Anyone in, say, Australia able to check the part number for a HZJ-75 input shaft for me?

Dan

pns

1HD-T 300mm Pressure plate #31210-60121 $270 plus freight.
1HZ 275mm Pressure plate #31210- 36161 is $257 plus freight
1HZ release cylinder #31470-60161 is $90 plus shipping

here is some info I got from g&S Cruisers in oZ

Said he wasnt interested in shipping h55s to the UK but was nice enough to do this

Also said he has ordered coarse spline h55s for the 2h and swapped in the other shaft from the 1HZ after getting it from toyota

okay so you can really complain about clutch parts -thats expected with any swap

seems like a couple of issues that makes the swap a little hard to swallow
1--the shaft is about 300 bucks!
2. Loss of parking brake -buy a expensive kit for a drum brake or swap the rear
3. h55 with the correct splined shaft a little hard to find but that may work out

-60170 is the correct number for 1HZ type H55F input.
BJ70 H55F input shaft part numbers are -60080, -60110, -60111 depending on year.

B,
FYI, G&S is in Canada:D. Great guys, hooked me up with all the parts that I needed for my rear e-locker. If they can get you all the parts that you need, you´ll be in good hands.

So I should be expecting a phone call Dan?

;)

Yes. You know me too well.

I'm trying to figure out how to time it so that I can pick it up when I'm in town next working on the 40 (which is getting blasted and prepped for paint, BTW).

shaft

me too but not till I get back from my trip in a couple weeks and allow the 1HD-T hole in my wallet to fill back in a little:)
