OK, so I have the biggest hayden that they had at Advanced auto. Bought some of their fittings. Of course none of them fit.

So here's my idea. The hose that runs from the radiator outlet to the hard lines on the trans (just above the front axle). I take that, cut it basically in half. Then re-attach the front section of the host back to the rad, take the other half and attach it to the hard lines again. Following me yet? So then I'll take a double-ended barb I got from the hayden kit, put it on the front half of my newly split hose, then use the 1 of 2 hoses from hayden to bridge in the cooler. For the back half of the factory hose I cut, I'll do the same - put in the double ended barb, hook the new hose to it that runs back from the new cooler?

Gonna go take a pick of my plans for a visual.

Am I ok in thinking that just cutting that factory flexible hose that is between rad and hard lines and using barbs and pipe clamps will hold up?

Appreciate all the help and some of my sometimes silly questions!

So above is the pic I just snapped. In the middle is a sample of the hose that came with the kit (just standard hose I bet) and I plan to add the plate cooler in the middle of the factory hose.

Anybody think that the barbs will fit the cut factory hose and hold?

I took my old hoses down to House of Hose, and they cut the crimp off of the fittings so the fittings could be re-used with new hose. They don't have the metric fittings. Then you can have them make up whatever hose configuration you want. They will crimp the new hose on to your old fittings. Don't try to cut the old hose and re-use it. It will be too brittle to use.

OK so I cut the hose and bridged in the cooler so it runs in series. Took it out for a test drive and it seems ok. Time will tell. If it wasn't raining I'd crawl under and take pics.
