Hello, former member here with a 93' 80, no lockers, no mods or anything. I still own the vehicle but it is in a barn awaiting a new block. I had some major issues with the HG and had it replaced and a month or so after the job the head cracked and now it's out of commish and has been for the past 3-4 years. I was ready to purchase a lift and snorkel, along with an arb when the HG blew so I never really got to get into the Land Cruiser the way I wanted to. I drove the absolute hell out of it for a couple years having to do inspections on construction sites so I did get to off-road it quite a bit on some of the rougher sites I had. I really love that truck and now it is going to be an ongoing project for me and my dad, along with my 2 month old son who will hopefully get a fully modded 80 series for his 16th birthday. I know that's a long way away but it will be something that we can do over the years as a family. My dad has a nice barn that we'll be able to work on the truck out of the elements and overall the vehicle is in great shape except for the engine. Over the next year we'll be locating all the parts and everything that we need to do most of the work ourselves, hopefully all of it but you never know. I'm mechanically inclined, more than any of my friends but no where near the aptitude of most of you guys here.

Now you're probably wondering why the hell this thread is in the 100 section. I finally got one, 06' Lexus LX, totally stock and the wife has been driving it for the last 8 months and it's finally mine. We got her an 07' GX which was going to be mine but she ended up liking it more than the LX, which was kind of my master plan the whole time. I would much rather drive the LX, even though the GX is a sweet ride. So now we have 2 very capable off-road vehicles in our stable and I couldn't be more proud. It took a while to convince the wife that these trucks were what we needed to be driving after all the trouble I had with the 93'. It was a nightmare financially and on our relationship because I loved it so much despite the engine problems.

The LX has all the fancy crap on it but I don't mind it at all. The AHC and navi aren't that bad and now I'm chomping at the bit to get after "enhancing" the truck with a slight lift, arb or slee front and rear, snorkel, lockers, roof rack etc. Hopefully when I'm ready to buy the stuff the same story won't happen as it did with the 93'. I'm really looking forward to taking it to a local off-road park and using the truck as it was really meant to be used. I'm also excited about getting back into this forum, as I'm a member of several other forums related to my job and hobbies, this was the first one and probably the best one that I'm involved in. I won't be all that active with posting as I'm not nearly the most knowlegeable person on the subjects that will be discussed but I will get in on as many discussions as I can and I'm really here to just learn as much as I can now to be a strong contributor in the future.

Here are a couple pics:

Picture this past summer when Lake Travis was so low I was driving in the middle of the lake, showing our location on the nav.

Thanks for looking and I guess I should re-read the forum rules and see if anything has changed or to see if I have violated any.

What part of Austin do you live in? Your neighborhood looks like one my sister used to live in which is by WestLake.

well, good to have you back.

don't wait too long on getting those 80 parts, it's not as if there are tons more 80s being made everyday... Not obvious you'll find many blocks in 16 years, and sadly, by then, there may not be any gasoline left anyway...

So enjoy the 100! :)

Thanks for the welcomes fellas. I live in Round Rock Midtex, I wish I were in Westlake though, that would mean I wouldn't have to wait so long to rig the LX. I've been cruising through the picture thread and my brain is much bigger than my wallet right now. I feel this will be a long process that probably never "really" ends.

Welcome back to the madness... and those are two nice lookin trucks in your driveway!

....and I fixed your quote below for you:popcorn::beer:
