Crawl under and push up and down on the prop shaft at each end and look for movement- there should be none. Do that also at the slip joint.

Begs the question why you’d need 80gal capacity- there’s hardly anywhere in the continental US where there’s more than 200miles between a fuel stop-even in the most remote areas.

80gal= over 1000 mile range- but 80gal is roughly 500lbs and then add whatever the weight of the tanks are- and cost in added consumption to carry that extra weight. Who makes a set up that fits 2 x 40gal tanks? DIY?

@abuck99 I believe he means 40 gallon replacement tank (in place of 25 gal. main) and 40 gal aux tank. So, essentially adding 55 gallons of capacity.

LOL- it's still 80 gallons total capacity which is what I was curious about

All correct and thank you. Greased both driveshafts and it turned out my transmission mount was destroyed and replaced that, clunk is largely gone.
80gal capacity. For my use it would let me not have to fill up every other day. It would allow for a week or so between fill ups and would give me an option of “skipping” a couple days of price increase vs now when I get whatever is available. More for convenience of choosing when I top up vs trying to drive 1000 miles nonstop.

And hoser nailed it. Looking at long range tanks (LRA?) and would have Slee install. Would have them re-spring as appropriate. 40gal main and 40gal aux tanks. Still lighter than a full up rear bumper. At this time thinking of removing the 3rd row (keep in garage, used once in 4 years) and tying down the spare in the cargo area.

I was going to say check your mounts next and take a look at the diff mount.
