Hello all! First post here. Thank you for your help.

My 100 Series makes a very rattly sound when going over bumps. Almost sounds like a chain clinking together. I can't figure out what it is and need help diagnosing it. I have posted a video where you can hear it clearly. Thank you!

Ok so first thing is determining whether it is inside or outside. Looks like you may have the windows down but wasn't 100% on that.
Once you get that determined then we can figure where it may be coming from. Best thing is to have someone with you (if at all possible) to help you diagnose which side it may be coming from and then go from there.

Thank you. Yes, windows were down. It sounds like it’s from the passenger/front side of the vehicle.

General advice exterior rattles

- Sway bar links
- Exhaust heat shields
-Dust brake shields , brake components / e-brake

Take a look at sway bar links first and see if the bushings look worn out as a good place to start.

This and also check to ensure that there are no other loose nuts/bolts anywhere. Check suspension related stuff and steering stuff to ensure none of your boots or bushings are worn to the point of making metal to metal contact.

I had the same problem on mine and it was the anti rattle piece on the brake pads, lightly tapping the brakes made it go away

Just an update, I had the sway bar end links replaced, checked the brake components, and made sure nothing was loose underneath. The rattle persisted. I checked the bushings and yep, they look pretty bad. This will be the next thing I tackle, as I'm thinking they are the most likely culprit.

That doesn't even deserve to be called a bushing anymore. It's just a trashed piece of old rubber.

Haha, yeah… they’re pretty bad!! Should be fun 🙄
Nice to be able to see an issue and I bet you will have some nice ride and noise improvements once those are replaced. Also made me realize mine aren't that bad after seeing yours =]
