Hi all,

I have a few questions for you...

1. What kind of tailgate struts do you guys get for your powered gate LX? I was looking at the TUFF SUPPORT 612926, 612927. OEM are starting at $50 each (68960-69165, 68950-69215)

2. What does this sticker mean? It is on the rear axle.

3. I took a look at the jack and I noticed that there is no "locking" for its head under the car. Basically it is a flat metal surface on another flat metal surface. Are there any rubber caps that you can use to increase friction?
I'm concerned about the stability of this jack with its very thin and small base. Even on asphalt the jack will dig in given the weight of the truck. What do you guys do to improve it?

Thanks

3: rubber would just tear under the weight of the truck. The jack actually works great as-is when used on the correct surface and with the correct spots on the vehicle, AND if it is in park with the parking brake firmly set. That is, under either side of the rear axle tube for the rear tires, or under the bend in the frame below the front doors for the front tires. I’ve even used mine in a grassy field and it worked great, but the ground was very dry.

The owners manual has pictures and valuable info on how to safely use the stock jack.

If you are worried about it you can get a plastic base for a hi-lift to distribute load across the ground, but usually it isn’t necessary.

I have a LC not a LX, but I had bad luck with aftermarket hatch struts. I just the get Toyota branded parts now.

Member Land Cruiser Phil makes an excellent jack accessory.

I carry a farm jack base in my cargo drawers, but haven't ever had to use it.

Used during the manufacturing process. QR codes were literally invented by Denso for the fast scanning of parts assemblies (like a rear axle, or instrument panel, or partial engine) during assembly so they can track and act on a trove of data, which is paramount to JIT
