Quicky becoming one of the baddest 80s here. Nice work, dude.

I'm planning on hitting up the Rubicon in October just to take a break from newborn and toddler life. I heard it has become much tamer so I'm not over thinking it.

When does the snow start to fall? I want to run the con before the end of the season, missed this weekends run. My junk is still waiting on one axel seal and my knuckle is getting welded up.

It's been in the 90s on the rubicon in October in past years, but it sucks to get piss drunk by the campfire and fall asleep only to be covered in frost at 5am in a lawnchair! Lol. It's cold at night...

I'm in an axle dilemma. They're fookin expensive. I was quoted $1400 for the front in all 30 spline at my custom lengths from RCV and $700(?) for the rear fzj80 lengths in 32 spline. The dilemma is what diff to run. I've got a Ujz100 rear elocker which requires really expensive gears with a 32 spline pinion. Or an fzj80 rear elocker that I already have everything for. I've also got a spartan fzj80 rear diff.

$tuff$ addin up real quick and the rear suspensions not been touched(though I have 90% of the parts). And the Tcase needs 3.1 gears and the part time mod. What else am I forgetting besides a matching wheel for the spare??

I was hoping to start a presmog 1uz powered toyota build by now in either an fj45 or stout/hilux.

Dam dude you got projects... Take em one step at a time!

So in my haste to get 5.29s and a rear locker I ordered the 'std' plug on my 12voltguy setup. His website clearly states to check his pics provided to ensure the proper connector....

I didn't.

I emailed him a couple days ago about MY mistake and what I needed to do to fix it.

This morning an entire new 17.5' harness arrived with the connector required for the fzj80 rear. Fantastic service, not required, and very much appreciated Darren.

For rear reference, slee 4" non HD coil yields exactly 17" of available shock length (compressed) in this position(my shock is 16.25" compressed and safe).@ 29" extended begins to depart the coil bucket without retainers.

Pic kinda sucks, but the lugs barely touch the rear sheet metal (not touching the bumper as it looks)and the bump(3" extended is smooshed). 9" wheel, 4.5" back spacing.

I dunno if that helps. Cutting it all away (factory suspension)regardless. It's cancer as far as I'm concerned.

Been waiting for the rear hack

This thread is awesome. Gave me something to read in the hospital. Now if I wasn't so sleep deprived I might understand it. Love the sexy welding pics though.

That front stuff pic is gorgeous!
And, I skipped a lot of pages, but when you became a vendor does that mean you're for hire now!?!?

What do you have planned for the rear? Still doing some crazy cantilever setup?

I dunno, I don't wanna cut up into the rear cargo area, but it looks inevitable... That area will be a pickup bed someday anyhow so I guess it doesn't really matter.

I need to crucify the 80 body wheelin it so I am 'forced' to do this

Excellent work as usual!

On another thread you are posting on trying to locate an A440F. I have one in Santa Rosa and would like to contribute to a sound low range solution for 80s. Please PM me as the site is not allowing me to send you PMs.

I need an a 343 actually .

I dunno what's up w the PM(conversation) thing. I can send, but not receive an initial message inquiry @woody ??

Probably wasted half this months 'vendor' investment as it became an issue as soon as the status change.

Silly little details... My son likes skulls.

What's this sorcery gusset work on the front of the axle? DIY or does somebody sell these premade?
