Does this look like a blown shock? Just noticed it today
What size winch is adequate for the 100? I have an m8000 from my FJC that i could use, but I'm wondering if this is strong enough. Thoughts?
If you search a little you will find several people that are running m8000's on thier 100's. Just add a snatch block. Spresso is running a 9.5 I believe and I am running a superwinch 9k. you will get varied responses. some will swear you need at least a 12k.... If you have an m8000 install it and use it.
I figured i'd probably need to use a snatch block. I'm beginning to think i should get a winch extension line in case.
In theory you can do a lot more to the rear than just the l-shock mod (4", 6" lift, etc.). The limiting factor is the front. Lowest cost is probably the L-shock mod. I believe the set-up Spresso has done is close to or exceeded the L-shock mod, but at a much greater cost.
I was told recently that just changing the first section of pipe after the headers would improve exhaust flow a lot and improve the sound, because Toyota, being conservative, made that section quite restricted. This was at a 4x4 motorshow in Melbourne, and the guys did this sort of stuff for a living.I can spend the next six months trying to find high flow cats and a high flow muffler for the cruiser.
I can get a generic high flow mufler for a GMC sierra (I know I can get these) but its expensive.
thoughts???
