I have an old set of ram horns oe Chev I assume ,And I cant find a good way to mount my alternator .As there is no holes in the manifold and no bracket to be found to accommodate this style of manifold .
Any Ideas
Sam

Howdy! Those manifolds date from very early small blocks. Hot Rod suppliers and places like LMC Truckpartss should have the original style brackets. John

what water pump do you have long or short ? what about mounting it off of the head ? eBay could be a possibility, just search eBay motors for alternator brackets or Chevy alternator brackets and you will find a lot of them. and check this place out they have a bunch

Bracket Kits

and maybe these guys, i don't remember if they have brackets but may have a link. Alternator Parts,High Output Alternators,Chrome Alternators,Quick Start Rebuild Kits

or search eBay for Chevy exhaust manifolds and you should find one with the bracket holes you need. that's where i got my ram horns.

hey 73fj some of the real old school SBC with short water pump mounted the alternator off the exhaust manifold on the drivers side and i think that's the problem hes having. but yeah that's the way i think he may have to go if his heads have the accessory holes

Its probably the easiest and most readily available way to do it, practically everyone has a beater chevy truck they rob parts off of...........don't they?

i use to but finally got rid of it  but i have a buddy with an old farm with hen houses full of rigs.

Downey Off Road had an exhaust bolt alternator bracket a million years ago for their V-8 customers. I think I still have a couple of those brackets on the shelf. If you need one, give me a call.
