I think we need to change the gotobilling page updated. Ed - do you have logins for this?

When I sold the 50 tickets to people I know, I emailed them photos of the stubs filled out. That is a quick and easy way to send verification that their tickets were processed. It's also free. It might be more practical than mailing stubs, or at least can be done quicker for the ten day turnaround. Do people actually need the physical stubs, especially if there is no tax deduction? It would also allow sales within ten days of the drawing. The last days leading up to the draw could be important sales days we don't want to lose. It's a bigger incentive to buy when you get a quick win or lose gratification.

Not sure who the raffle police are or how that would get verified, but I would think that if the online ticket sale page informed people that the protocol would be they will receive photo email reciept of their stubs we would be covered. People knowing that going in at the point of purchase should satisfy our obligation.

Please move this to the private side...

What's the issue with discussing this publicly? There is nothing untoward bout this discussion that cannot be discussed in the open. In fact, someone who comes upon this may have some good input.

All discussion of raffle administration should be done in private.

I would like to add my 2 cents as a non-club member. I bought 2 tickets via the web link. Considering I am now a "customer", I expect to see what my raffle numbers are. Considering there is supposedly only 2000 tickets total, I have no way to verify if the online application is allowing overselling of the tickets since I don't have the actual stubs in my hot little hands. It will cause me to call it all into question when all is said and done without a visual verification that the tickets are in fact in my name and not just dollars lost in space with only an email verifying that I spent money since the email did not include my ticket numbers. I am not saying that I do not trust you all, but I am sure my concern is not isolated.

Josh I know they are working on just that. There is a meeting wen. night. I'm sure they will get it straightens out. They are not trying to cheat anyone.

Josh,

Thanks for your support. Our records show that you purchased 2 tickets 9 days ago (on 8/23). Your tickets numbers are 1359 and 1360. As stated on the website, we try to send a scan of your tickets within 10 days. Your order was placed 9 days ago, but we had a delay in printing the last 1000 tickets so we are backed up in processing the 1200+ tickets that have been purchased in the last two weeks. You will probably not receive the "official' email with scanned tickets for a few more days. Rest assured that the two referenced tickets are reserved in your name (that is assuming you are the Joshua N*******k in Waldorf).

Thank you all. I was just trying to illustrate a point of view of a non-member since for you all it is a very close to home issue and you may only see it through a narrow lens. It's a great truck. I saw it at the IPOR event in the spring. Definitely worth a chance considering in the grand scheme of things 1/2000 odds are pretty damn good. Besides :princess: wants a 40. Of course there isn't a better charity in my mind than Fisher House either.
