Looks like my radiator is starting to leak, 2004 119K miles. I am looking at replacing with a Denso model, are these OEM? or are there better options.
Thanks

Wow. I paid like $165 plus tax in 2017. Prices are crazy now, but Rock Auto not too bad.
Wow, when was this?My brother installed a replacement Denso (from Rock Auto) in his GX and the top aluminum strap across the radiator promptly broke in the middle. He compared it to the OEM Toyota and it was much thinner and less beefy. One of the few time we have felt let down by Denso replacement parts.
I purchased a denso unit for my 100 from amazon and it came in cracked. I did not notice until install last week. Unfortunately this was in 2020 when I purchased so I had no warranty. When comparing to stock, it was a little smaller looking though 99% similar. Instead of ordering from amazon again, I ordered from parts geek. It was more expensive but I figured it might be a higher quality oem denso piece. When I received the new radiator, it was packed differently (better) and had a slightly different denso sticker. So while there is likely some thinning of materials over the past twenty years, there are also different quality oem radiators out there. An example that was visually apparent was the nipples for the trans cooler, the newer ones were brass like oem with security paint on the bolts while the amazon was aluminum nipples with no paint markings. I had read there is a Mexican spec radiator. Perhaps the amazon is Mexi spec. In addition to the radiator, order some 1.5 inch by 1.5 inch foam Rubber window gasket with adhesive. Its nearly the same size as stock and very easy to stick on before install. Remember open cell foam rubber, (black) not foam (gray).Wow, when was this?
It's been over 5 years and over 50k miles since I replaced mine with the Denso radiator and so far it's been trouble free.
I wonder if quality went down recently or just a bad one.
Definitely not saying the part was a clone, it was definitely a denso part, just prob a different factory or value spec. the shipping and cracking was due to AmazonMy brother got this iffy Denso radiator approx 2-3 years ago. I saw his old OEM radiator and the Denso, and the Denso was clearly made less stoutly and expensively.
I'm all done with Amazon car parts, too. I wonder if my 4Runner ball joints were actually OEM Toyota or not - given all the fake 'OEM' Toyota parts sold now. Some of the boxes in which the fake parts are sold are very good clones of OEM parts boxes.
Without going full aluminum, Denso seems to be the consensus here, so I pulled the trigger. I think I did run across and appreciate your comment stating this RE: Denso, but I leaned with the numbers and hope it's a good replacement, considering inflationary co$t and aftermarket but OEM, if not OE. 230K was good for stock, so I hope to get many tens of thousands if not hundreds on this one too...My brother installed a replacement Denso (from Rock Auto) in his GX and the top aluminum strap across the radiator promptly broke in the middle. well that's a bummer...Looks like an OEM Toyota radiator is only $169 from my local dealer (V8 4Runner version but undoubtedly exactly the same). At that price, a Denso makes a lot less sense when it's more expensive than a true Yota radiator.

I hate when that happens!well that's a bummer...
AAAND I just put together lexuspartsnow and partsouq orders, but stupidly forgot about the radiator when filling those shopping carts.
**EDIT**
LPN is $400 down from $600, but different part numbers from the 4R to the GX:

Now I'm super confused. Many but not all aftermarket radiators for the GX470 and T4R both have the sane part number and look like the OEM GX470 radiator. But the OEM T4R radiator picture is different than the GX radiator.well that's a bummer...
