radiator overfull

I tried to burp my radiator this weekend and I think now it is overfull- The truck was on a hill and then stalled - gas was low- I then filled it until it was full. Now when I feel the upper hose it feels solid with no give. Should I open the cap and let it run after it cools down?

No. If the cap is doing it's job you shouldn't need to do anything.

yes. the system is pressurized then.

Sounds like you are fine...and it's working like it should. The system will burp itself to the overflow container if required.
