So there's no need to pull the pan then- just drain and fill with a few quarts and repeat with oil changes- sounds good.View attachment 3534195
When and why would you drop the pan and clean or replace the filter in there like this guy above on YouTube?

Some people just like to make sure that there's nothing of concern on the magnet(s).

Regarding the original issue of the hose collapsing - one additional thing to check is the small hose from the radiator to the coolant overflow tank, and the hose from the overflow tank cap that extends to bottom of tank. Make sure they are not clogged with gunk interfering with the expansion and contraction of coolant over time & temperatures.
