I was looking for performance tunes on the internet and started in the Belgrade, MT area first because when I was up there getting my adapter kit from Overland Cruisers I was told his personal FJ60 had the tune that proved 200 hp and 400 torque. It also provided a high idle for cold weather starts. I even witness the idle increase.

I got one response from a shop in Belgrade and they only knew of one source for a possible tune and that was Axis Industries. So I reached out to them and got a response about the high idle feature. They informed me that the feature is already in the PCU and just needs to be configured and they could do it for $25 plus shipping. I asked if they could do anything else while they had it and they said that they could turn off the control for the electric fan and then it would not throw a code if you have done a mechanical fan instead as I have. That can be done for another $25. So when I get back home I will box up the PCU and ship it off.

That will solve two problems that I needed but still have not found a tuner yet to increase performance yet and I am still looking. But I have found a tuner from TDI in the UK that changes the fueling and does increase the HP but I wanted more torque.

For what it’s worth that particular R2.8 60 put down 171hp and 315tq on a dyno here in Belgrade a couple of years ago. Pretty good numbers for a 2.8 diesel, I’m not sure if it has had another tune since then.

Thanks for the response.

Looks like TDI out the UK is my best bet.

I did not get to take a ride in that FJ60 just heard it start and did not have a muffler and was surprised how loud it was and did not care for how loud it was. I will be putting a muffler on mine.

We did go for a ride in another one that did not have a tune so I was not able to get a good feel for it in the passenger seat. But the wind was blowing pretty good and could feel it in my Ram 3500 with the 6.7 and the FJ60 seemed to handle the head wind and still do 70-75 mph. Much better them my old 2F would do in a head wind with 4.11 gears. The wind would really knock it down.

I was up there last year in the fall after I bought my R2.8 and took delivery.

Do you know how did the tune? I did a search for the local shops up there and only one responded and pointed my to Axis and they told me they can configure my computer for the high idle and disable the control for and e fan.

I found a shop that does not yet have a tune but wanted a file from mine so they can develop one. Don't really wont to be a guine pig for that.
