quick GM TBI questions

Does anyone know if the various GM TBI computers are the same electrically and the only difference in the chips or are the computers different functionally. Thanks Dan

I wanna say when they go from a 700r4 to a 4l60e around 92-93ish they are different. 88-92or93 would be the same and you can change around the chip 93-95 are going to be different. I'm not in any way 100% sure but when I did my tbi swap I wanted a 4l60e and the harness company and a chip company told me the computer years I needed were 93-95.

There are differences. Some have different pulse counts for the VSS, some have VATS, different buad rates, etc. There is a very common one in the early stuff, most chip tuners and TBI kit vendors will steer you to that one, I can't remember the number right off, but it starts off 17747 or something like that.
