Question for Expedition folks - what rack are you using for your RTT?

Just wondering what racks you are using for RTT on an 80 series?

I was using a Quik-N-Easy rack, three stays. Worked great, super quick and easy (ha!) to install and remove, no tools, hand levers, takes about 90 seconds to put up. I'd stick to something with at least three, ultimately four stays, to distribute the weight across the rain gutters.

Cost was around $100 for the three stays.

I know what you mean about racks being pricey...I pulled the trigger on a Mule Expedition Rack that I got for roughly half price and my wife STILL couldnt believe how much it was.

In the long run it is important to use a quality rack, it will save your roof/gutters and tent a lot of wear and tear over the years. Chasing, finding and fixing A-pillar water leaks are not fun, not to mention rust.

Mudrak has a new rack available with 4 clamps per side and a flat tubular rack with small wind deflector in the front. It works really well with the roof top tents. I know it is available for the 80 but don't know about other models.

Hannibal- 4 clamps per side, gutter rail running the entire gutter length. All aluminum, extruded planks for strength and weight, attachment channel built-in. You can use any number of tents and their awning system has been superior to everything else on the market for years.

not cheap, but high quality and light
