Iwas wondering kind of reading is a good reading on the oil gauge? I changed the head and could have sworn that I made sure to put the gasket correct not blocking the oil. I have pressure but no oil is getting up to the head.
How does an oil pump fail? arent they steel gears? thanks for any help.

Yes, oil pumps fail. Often, though, what happens is the distributor is not replaced deeply enough to engage the pump and then the pump does not work. Also, it is easy to not reattach the oil pressure sender (or accidentally knock it off).

That actually does sound OK. In our older engines, there is an oil delivery pipe that comes up on the rocker arm (passenger) side of the engine. It is a copper pipe which then attaches to the rocker arm assembly, number 34 in this figure. Is that there?

What kind of engine is it? If its a 3FE then the head oil oil passage is in the block and head. Are you getting zero oil in the rocker or just a bit? If its no oil and you're pretty sure the head gasket is in correctly, an chance you got the rocker assembly on wrong? One of the mounts has the hole for the oil, the others don't - to get it on wrong you'd have had to disassembled it.

Pull the valve cover off and hook the AMM back up and run it. Visually ensure you are getting oil to the rockers. Go to NAPA ad pay $60 for a pro quality oil pressure gauge and hook it up. 60 series gauge are nortorious for bad readings.

One of the things i tried to make sure of was to put the gasket on correctly, I hope I did. rockers and radiator and stuff have gbeen out for 6mnths, Im gonna try to put the stuffs back on just to move the damn thing. I bought the 62 with a carcked head and bought another head that didnt seem cracked, the radiator and wterpump are bad also. gonna try to get it runnin with the same shet just to move the thing. btw, The top is not getting oil. I was able to squirt some oil into the hole under the rockerstand and the oil(wd40) goes down slowly so ...... how does an oil pump fail ?
