My 2.4 runns smooth with the new turbo, but I want MORE...
What does it take? any experiance?
Thanks in advance

you want more? then get propane injection for it and you will have mor than you need...
i ran it on a LJ71 and the difference is night and day...
cheers

Sounds like fun, but I really want the 3.0 engine :ban:

you'll be better off with a 3.0 from a late 70 series. The runner/ prado drivetrain will be tricky with the centered rear output, and drivers side front output on the TCase. That's if you drop the tranny and tcase in as well. There's not much choice anyway since the stock LJ tranny will not match the KZ engine. Or if you find a manual 4runner or 90 series you could use half of each tranny and keep the LJ transfer.
The electronic version of the has an awful lot of wires

A mechanically injected KZ engine with manual shifting auto and full time 4wd would be cool as hell though :D

Good luck !

so let me get this straight

The engine from the 4runner wont fit.

But if i take the 3l Turbo Diesel engine from a late 70, it will fit right over in my older 70 with a 2.4turbo diesel?
I would like the new gear and all to follow the new engine, and what I have gathered so far is the only thing i need is to modify the engine mount a little because its located about a inch further in the front

the 4runner engine will fit, but with an awful lot more work. With the 70 series engine, you may have to alter the PS lines, cooling system, electrical system... but from a drivetrain point of view, apart from the engine mounts it should be straightforword. :)

OK I want to take my statement back somehow :o it looks like the 93-96 generation of 4runners still had a passenger side drop front output, and some may have been mechanically injected. The rear center output remains there though, and would require building a custom rear axle.

although it looks like a prado t-case could be clocked all the way to being converted to a passenger side front output... As I said everything can be done with some time and imagination :)

Do you plan use 1KZ-T engine ..? woouuu ..! I thought other option are the 3L naturaly aspirated engine with your 2L turbo setup.

Unfortunately the 3Ls were never sold in large amounts in Europe, if ever.
The lower capacity and older technology would be some fair tradeoffs for the bolt-on simplicity.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm seriously tempted to try and build an hot rodded 2L-T.
The short stroke definately has some revving potential, my bones stock 2L is smooth as silk all the way up to 4800rpms
