I was driving down to Toronto ... 2nd day into the trip , and my PWR dash light indicator went out . I noticed it wasn't on after a rest break .
.
.
.
Then I noticed it was back on , on the trip back up . Not sure exactly when it came back on .

I could really care less , but if it's a symptom if sumptin bigger , I'd like to know . . . . as if

The indicator lights up only when the power mode is selected. Did you swith it off maybe?

If you were in the power mode the whole trip I suspect that your indicator bulb needs to be replaced. Sometimes the filliment will re-connect it's self but will likely fail again.

Dan ,

Thanx .

I am in power mode 24/7 . This and the Truspeed help me stomach the 35's . Upon reaching a hill I keep it in power mode , and take the OD off . Seems to work great ... been like that for years .

Hope I'm not messing things up ..

Very unlikely that you are messing anything up but your usage statement reinforces my diagnosis. Always in power mode, bulb always lit, bulb likely shot.........:D

Hey, is it hard to replace those bulbs?

My "D" bulb is out, and I haven't even looked into what it takes to remove the cluster yet.

Are these commonly available bulbs too, or are they a special order item?

I've always been a bit of a 'dim bulb'...

Yes...not to hi-jack this thread but, Doc, my "D" light in my dash board PRNDL is out also...all the rest work but when I shift to "D" I get no light. I would like to replace it but how hard is it? Where can we get the bulb?

Thanks!

DC

my "D" light comes and goes like someone else said I like it better gone, my power light is out also I plan to someday pull the cluster in replace the power and delete the "D" light

the back lighting in the antenna switch up/down switch and the flasher switch are also out

Anyone have a write-up on pulling the dash? And cluster?

Thanks...

It's not that hard and anyone should be able to figure it out. You'll need to remove the skirt under the steering wheel and the black facia that trims out the cluster and then the cluster. This is from doing a 96 which I beleive is the same as a 95 and 97 but not sure of the earlier ones.

The bulbs are readily available at you favorite dealer. Not difficult to replace any of them, just a litt bit of a pain the backside to replace a couple dollar bulb of such small stature!
