Okay...I'll probably always call myself a newbie, considering the first time I ever changed my own oil was just a few months ago. Thanks to Mud, I've now replaced my alternator, starter, installed new u joints on the rear drive shaft and cleaned it up. Going to install tonight.

Now, here's my current puzzle...

A few weeks ago, I changed out my alternator. This past weekend, I changed out my starter. Upon changing my starter, I found this near 11" hose which was located in the specific tool box I used to change out the alternator. I don't have any hoses laying around, so I know it came off the truck, and 95% confident I must have pulled it off to make room to remove the alternator:

I've been trying to locate where it goes, assuming that it's somewhere around the alternator, but as of yet, no success. I tried looking at diagrams of the area, and it's still unclear to me. Hoping that by taking and sharing some photos, someone who knows the hosing in this area will be able to help direct me. Photos from around the alternator:

Many thanks in advance!!!

Charcoal canister hose? that and power steering hoses are all that's in that area, but you would have noticed if the PS hose was MIA.

nvrmind, in the second set of photos the CC hoses are present.

Is there a hose located under or on the forward portion of the alternator that you think it might be?

It also states it's either a gas or emissions hose.

Front diff breather hose?
What's on your front diff, driver's side, top of tube? It should have a hose to a breather, or may have been relocated by PO.

I have a missing breather hose on the rear I discovered, but I'm guessing it's been that way for a long time. The front is still there.

What do most people use to post pics on Mud?
I think most use the "upload file" feature in the reply function.

This is a copy of your icloud. The white screen is killer when surfing 'mud and it opens a new screen!
That, and this will expire, and no one will be able to learn from your post due to the missing pictures.

Thanks for the tip, had no idea and was always confused on the link photo share.

I'd be willing to bet that it's likely a spare piece either tucked away, or accidentally dropped by the previous owner.

If you notice, the end doesn't seem to have the tell tale imprint from a hose clamp that would typically be present when a hose has been installed for some length of time (and it doesn't take long for that imprint to develop).

I'm almost done installing my rear drive shaft and having her ready to hit the road again after replacing my u joints. I figure if there is something missing, I'll find out. ha
