We've got a Sienna that has the smart key and it is a pretty wonderful thing. Proximity lights come on when we approach, doors unlock when I grab the handle and tug.

My concerns about going keyless would be security of the signal. There was a rash of break-ins for smart vehicles a little while ago. Someone found a way to clone the signals with a device and break into cars.

Push button start = meh
Keyless/button-free entry = actually quite convenient. Yes, not reaching into your pocket to push the "unlock" on your fob is actually pretty handy, especially, as others have said, when your hands are full or you're wearing gloves.

I have been wanting to get a remote start system for mine, I really wanted to get a viper system with the smart start module but this has me rethinking my plan. the one the OP suggested is keyless entry / start, remote start, and security. very tempting, I might have to look deeper into this. I was planning on installing my self any way so....

Edit:
Range of the remote start is listed as 30ft.....I want something that will work around 300 ft

My old Clifford 590.2x works hundreds of yards away in a parking lot situation and several hundred feet in an area thick with vegetation or buildings. Remote start is wonderful. When we got our freak winter storm and were in the double digit negatives a few years ago, Remote start paid for itself. I programmed it to start when the cabin temp dropped to 20*F that way it was warming up and shutting down so there was no chance of freezing the block etc... and the cruiser was always ready to go, super convienient and worth the sub $300 I paid from Amazon. I've used my remote start so much I've burned out the backlight of the remote so the fob screen is hardly legible anymore. I'm considering buying a newer system or just ordering a new fob.

So I emailed advanced keys and got this reply.

Hi Chad, thanks for your inquiry.
Our system works/install the same way like that a remote starter and works well with your 97 Land Cruiser. Remote start is between 50-100ft. Installation and wiring is very straightforwardhowever, we recommend using a local professional Car Alarm/Remote Start shop if possible.

Regards,

So it's a decent range but but I am wanting a 200ft range or so so I can start it at work. I have such a short drive home my Cummins doesn't have time to warm up. (First world problems I know!)

I really could careless about the push button start, I want the proximity key feature from the newer stuff. Wifes T4R has it and its likely my favorite feature of the her rig, (other than a seats that go back far enough lol )

I have a push button start .. well not fully the way OP intend, coz I still have to put my key on and on ing, since my button on activate the starter .. but I'll love to do it fully ..

I have an aftermarket alarm with remote that do the door lock trick ..
