Quick update, delivery is expected today! Here's a photo from the seller with the truck on the trailer.

These trucks are expensive. They were expensive to buy new. They are expensive to buy used. They are expensive to fix. They are expensive to maintain. They are more expensive if not treated right. And even more expensive if the previous owner hasn’t fixed all the expensive stuff for you.
Very much this. My rusty 99 that I bought a year ago couldve probably commanded an extra $2k if I had bought it a few weeks ago. Frame and all major wear components need addressed. Clown world.

@CakeMountain congrats on the find. Where in MD are you?

It's here. Definitely going to have to air it out some. Interior needs a good cleaning, and I need to get a few spots with peeling paint that needs fixed, but otherwise seems good. No lights on the dash, engine idles smooth, and even the antenna still works.

why do you have to air it out? Smokers? Looks great !

Yeah, possibly smokers. Something of a light odor that will need to be resolved. I've got a carpet shampooer, so I'll put that to work and see how much it resolves.

Also, I can check out the cabin air filter.

So overall are you happy with it being sight unseen? That's still scares me.

Yeah, absolutely. It just made it through Maryland state safety inspection with only very minor issues - a couple of burned out headlight bulbs and some window tint that had to be removed. I thought the sunroof was leaking, but I think I just didn't close it all the way after fiddling with it. So, if you are buying site unseen, especially from a dealership, ask about any smells and request a leak test on the sunroof (which is something that probably doesn't get done by most PPI unless it just happens to be raining.)
