Yesterday I took the kids to an autocross at the Route 66 Casino. We decided to take the scenic route up the Puerco and come out at the end of Southern. Got to Snoopy Rock and headed into the wash as usual. Apparently one of the recent storms had a real impact on the drainage because it was totally changed, especially the banks. We went up both drainages and could not find a way up and out. The usual egress points had been washed away leaving only chutes with about a 35 degree angle and three feet of loose sand. I should have taken a greater hint of there being no full-size vehicle tracks anywhere.
Might be fun to go in from Southern and check things out. At least we know we could get out through the I-40 route if need be. Anyone up for an impromptu run, maybe even some weekday this week?
